Reverse Osmosis Water System Resources

Have you ever wondered the source of the water in your drinking glasses?

If you think the water you consume is the same water that flows from the mountains and highlands....think again.
The water that reaches you has actually already been mixed with substances discharged from our homes, squatters, factories and agricultural activities.
It then ends up in our rivers again. This water is treated at treatment plants and then channeled back into our homes. Therefore we are actually drinking
our own recycled water everyday.

Chlorine from treatment plants is only effective in disinfecting biological pollutants. Other impurities such as organic and inorganic pollutants still
exist in treated water and damaged, worn-out and rusty waterworks further deteriorate our water quality. Reverse Osmosis is the most effective purification
method in filtering all types of pollutants.

Types Of Water Pollutants

We are generally in danger of the being exposed to 4 types of water pollutants

1) Biological Pollutants
2) Organic Pollutants
3) Inorganic Pollutants
4) Chlorine By-Products

Let me break-down each with a short overview

Biological Pollutants
- In underdeveloped countries an estimated 25,000 people will die daily from waterborne disease.(Naturally Pure Alternatives)

Organic Pollutants
- Drinking water contains more than 2100 toxic chemicals that can cause cancer.
(Ralph Nader Study Group)

Inorganic Pollutants
- 60% of our water pipes are worn-out, rusty asbestos-cement pipes cause water to be contaminated and a minimum of 10 years is required in order to reconstruct them.(Public Works Department, Water Supply Branch)

- The local authority has even questioned whether our 50 year old water treatment system is still capable of treating our water today.

- Lead in drinking water contributes to 480,000 cases of learning disorders in children and 560,000 cases of hypertension in adults each year in US. (US EPA)

Chlorine By-Products
- People who drink chlorinated water have a 93% higher risk of contracting cancer than those who drink water without chlorine. (US Council of Environment Quality)
